J. & B. Rare Blend of Speyside Malts

J&B Rare is a light, approachable blended Scotch whisky built on 42 Speyside malt whiskies from Highland distilleries such as Knockando and Glen Spey – complemented by grain whisky to create a light, elegant blend.

The Justerini & Brooks brand dates back to 1749 in London. Since the 1960s, J&B Rare has been among the best-selling blended Scotch whiskies worldwide, particularly popular in the Spanish market. The style is deliberately mild and versatile: little peat, hardly any smoke, but plenty of clear fruit.

In the glass, it displays a bright straw gold color. The nose offers fresh citrus notes, green apple, and a hint of caramel. On the palate, it is light-bodied with subtle grain spice, mild vanilla, and a short, clean finish without much lingering aftertaste.

The ideal introduction to the world of Scottish blends – neat at room temperature, on the rocks, or as the base for classic long drinks. Its light style is particularly well-suited for a Whisky Sour (J&B, fresh lemon juice, simple syrup); it also works perfectly with ginger ale and a splash of lime.
