Herdade dos Grous 23 Barricas Vinho regional Alentejano 0.75L
From the Alentejo, one of Portugal's hottest and driest wine regions, comes this Syrah with a clear character: dark-fruited, spicy, with palpable substance.
The Herdade dos Grous is located in the Baixo Alentejo near Vidigueira, embedded in extensive agriculture of vineyards, olive groves, and a nature reserve. The estate combines large-scale production with careful hand-picking — the name "23 Barricas" refers to the limited barrel quantity from which this wine originates.
In the glass, it shows a deep purple color. On the nose, blackberry, black plum, and a hint of violets, underpinned by pepper and dark spices — typical for Syrah in a hot continental climate. On the palate, full-bodied with round tannins, a subtle warmth, and a long, slightly smoky finish.
Best served at 16–18 °C. Goes well with leg of lamb with rosemary, grilled Ibérico pork, or a spicy chickpea stew. Those who decant it will get the aromas even more clearly into the glass.
