Gusbourne Brut Reserve Gusbourne Estate 0.75L
The Brut Reserve from Gusbourne Estate stands for English sparkling wine that shows what the southeast of England can achieve: freshness, precision, and an unmistakable character that neither imitates Champagne nor hides behind trends.
The winery is located in Kent, not far from Appledore, on chalk soils that are reminiscent of Champagne – and that is exactly what is reflected in the glass. Gusbourne works with Chardonnay as the main grape variety and understands the Brut Reserve as an expression of a specific place at a specific time: honest, without embellishment.
Bright golden color, fine, persistent perlage. On the nose, citrus zest, green apple, and a hint of white peach, underpinned by a light brioche tone. On the palate, taut acidity that still has melt, with a long, mineral-fresh finish.
Serve it well-chilled at 8–10 °C as an aperitif, with oysters, scallops, or a classic chicken fricassee. Those who love Champagne but are curious about British answers will find a convincing entry point here.
