Jeffrey Grosset is one of the best-known winemakers in South Australia. His winery in the Clare Valley region — known primarily for Riesling, but long since also for red wines with profile — stands for artisanal precision and clear language of origin. The Gaia is a Cabernet cuvée in which Cabernet Franc plays a supporting role and gives the wine its characteristic freshness and herbal spice.

On the nose, ripe plums and blackberry, plus a fine note of game meat and a hint of dried herbs. On the palate, the wine shows a velvety texture with ultra-finely structured tannins that unfold without pressure. The finish is long, cool, and spicy.

Pairs well with rack of lamb with rosemary jus, mature cheddar, or a hearty braised dish. Serving temperature: 16–18 °C.
