Pinot Gris GG

Pinot Gris GG
A Pinot Gris that shows what Saxony can do: dry power, mineral depth, and an aromatic profile that is not loud, but precise.
Schloss Proschwitz is the oldest privately managed winery in Saxony — a region that is often underestimated but provides ideal conditions for expressive white wine with its continental temperature fluctuations and gravel-rich soils on the Elbe. The winery stands for meticulously careful vinification and a clear regional connection.
In the glass, the 2022 Pinot Gris shows aromas of roasted hazelnut, white peach, and a hint of smoke — typical for the grape variety on mineral subsoil. The palate is full-bodied with good structure, the acidity integrated, the finish dry and long with a slightly spicy note.
As a Grosses Gewächs, it represents the highest quality level of German white wine: harvested from classified single vineyards, vinified dry, with the potential to mature for several more years.
Serving temperature: 12–14 °C.
- Veal schnitzel with mushroom cream sauce
- Grilled zander with herb butter
- Ripe Gruyère or mountain cheese
