Grappa di Magari, 45% Vol. Merlot, Cab.Sauv., Cab.Franc 0.5L

The Grappa di Magari is a pomace brandy made from Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Cabernet Franc, the same grape varieties that form the basis of Gaja's Magari red wine. At 45% vol, it is powerful in the glass.

Angelo Gaja is one of the defining names in Italian viticulture. With Magari, a Bordeaux blend is created in the Maremma, on the Tuscan coast, whose pomace is turned into grappa here. Its origin from red wine varieties determines the style: darker and spicier than a grappa made from white pomace.

On the nose, you will find dark berries, herbs, and delicate spice, plus floral nuances. On the palate, it is powerful with a silky texture and a long, warm finish.

Recommendation: neat from a small tulip glass, served at about 12 to 16 °C. It works as a digestif after a meal with game or mature cheese, as well as with dark chocolate.
