Felsina Rància Chianti Classico Riserva Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG

The Rància is Fèlsina's flagship — a single-vineyard cuvée from the heart of Chianti Classico that shows what Sangiovese can achieve on barren Galestro rock.

The winery is located southeast of Siena in Castelnuovo Berardenga, one of the warmest zones of Chianti Classico. Since the 1980s, Fèlsina has established the Riserva Rància as an independent site — long before single vineyards became fashionable in Tuscany again. The grapes ripen on calcareous Galestro soil, which is partly responsible for the taut structure and the distinct minerality of the wine.

In the glass, it shows dark ruby red with a hint of garnet. On the nose, ripe black cherry, blackberry, and a clear undertone of leather, tobacco, and rosemary — typical for aged Sangiovese from this zone. On the palate, firm but well-integrated tannins, lively acidity, and a long finish with notes of dark chocolate and dried lavender. The Riserva aging in wooden barrels gives the wine additional depth without covering the fruit.

Best served at 17–18 °C. Pairs with Bistecca alla Fiorentina, wild boar salami, ripe Pecorino, or pasta with wild boar ragù.
