Domaine des Perdrix Echezeaux Grand Cru Devillard
Échézeaux is among Burgundy's most coveted Grand Cru vineyards — and Domaine des Perdrix holds a monopoly on parcels here, which the Devillard family has consistently cultivated according to the principles of lutte raisonnée since the 1990s. The wines from Prémeaux-Prissey are considered a precise expression of the Côte de Nuits.
In the glass, this Pinot Noir displays a deep garnet red. The bouquet opens with blackberry, sour cherry, and blueberry, followed by violets, a hint of cedar, and subtle spice from aging in Burgundy barrels. On the palate, it is medium to full-bodied, with fine-grained tannins and lively acidity that adds tension and length. The finish is dry, mineral, and lingers noticeably.
Drinking window: now until 2035+, cellar aging develops more complexity. Temperature: 16–17 °C. Good with wild duck breast, coq au vin, mature Époisses or a robust beef fillet.
