Domaine des Perdrix Echezeaux Grand Cru Devillard

Échézeaux is one of Burgundy's great names—a Grand Cru in Flagey-Échézeaux, located between Vougeot and Vosne-Romanée, renowned for its combination of power and finesse. Domaine des Perdrix , now part of the Devillard family, cultivates parcels in this appellation, focusing on classic Pinot Noir vinification: selective hand-harvesting, fermentation in open wooden vats, and aging in Burgundian barriques.

In the glass, the wine displays a deep ruby red with violet reflections. The nose offers black cherry, blackberry, and a hint of violet, underpinned by cedarwood and subtle smoky notes from barrel aging. On the palate, dense yet silky tannins, a vibrant acidity, and a long finish with mineral nuances—typical of the iron-rich soils of this vineyard.

Drinking window: now until 2035, with potential for further aging in the cellar. Serving temperature 16–18 °C , ideally decant one hour before pouring. Pairs well with venison loin with wild cherry sauce, duck breast, or a mature Époisses.
