Disaronno Originale Amaretto Liqueur
Disaronno Originale is the world's best-selling Amaretto – an almond liqueur from Saronno in Lombardy, whose recipe is said to have remained unchanged since the Renaissance.
The base is an infusion of apricot kernels, bitter almonds, and vanilla in pure alcohol, rounded off with caramelized sugar. The recipe remains in the family to this day. The rectangular carafe with its square lid is characteristic – unchanged for decades.
In the glass: intense almond-marzipan notes, sweet caramel, a hint of vanilla, and a subtle bitterness on the finish. The texture is full-bodied and velvety, the finish pleasantly warm.
Recommended enjoyment:
- Neat at room temperature or on ice – classically served in a tumbler.
- As a Disaronno Sour : with fresh lemon juice and a dash of egg white
- In the kitchen: as a base for tiramisu, amaretto panna cotta or over vanilla ice cream
- Classic long drink: Disaronno & Tonic with a slice of orange
