Core Rosso Campania IGT
The Core Rosso from Campania is a red wine with Southern Italian temperament: dense, warm and with the characteristic depth that Aglianico brings from volcanic soils.
Montevetrano is located in the hills south of Salerno, not far from Cilento. The winery became known through Silvia Imparato, who established Campania on the international wine map. The Core Rosso is the more accessible brother of the flagship wine and shows what the region is capable of even outside of great vintages.
In the glass, the nose opens with black cherry, blackberry and violets, underneath dark chocolate and a hint of cinnamon. With air, ripe forest fruits and Mediterranean herbal spice follow. On the palate, supple tannins and a pleasant warmth appear, which is typical for Aglianico from the south. The finish combines dark fruit, spices and subtle cocoa hints into a long, round finale.
Good with lamb with rosemary, wild boar sauce over pasta or a strong Pecorino. Serving temperature: 17–18 °C.
