Contadi Castaldi works in Franciacorta, the area in Lombardy known for its sparkling wines made using the traditional method. The DOCG stands for the strict requirements of this appellation. The profile lists Chardonnay as the grape variety. We have no information on the aging process, so we will stick to what can be detected in the glass.

The color is straw yellow with greenish reflections. The nose shows linden blossom, citrus fruits, and white peach, plus a hint of green pepper. On the palate, the Brut is clear and taut, with vertical freshness and a spicy structure. The finish is long.

Serve it at 6–8 °C. It goes well as an aperitif, with oysters, fried fish, or fried antipasti. The large bottle makes it the centerpiece for celebrations, receptions, or a long summer evening in the garden.
