Clos Ancestral Blanco
Forcada and Xarel-lo – two grape varieties that have shaped Catalonia for centuries and come together in the Clos Ancestral Blanco to create a fresh, independent white wine.
The Torres family is not only one of the most famous names in Catalonia but also a pioneer in saving almost forgotten grape varieties. Forcada was long considered lost – Torres has revived it and combined it with the indigenous Xarel-lo, which delivers its best arguments in the Penedès on barren limestone soils: acidity, texture, origin.
In the glass, the Blanco shows light straw yellow. The nose brings citrus zest, white peach, and a hint of herbs – Mediterranean and lively. On the palate, the Xarel-lo contributes its typical freshness: clear line of acidity, medium body, slightly saline finish. No wood, no heavyweight – a wine that whets the appetite.
Serving recommendation: Well chilled at 10–12 °C. Pairs with grilled fish, seafood, gazpacho, or a simple pa amb tomàquet.
