Château Rauzan-Ségla 2ème Cru Classé 0.75L

Château Rauzan-Ségla is one of the great names of the Médoc — as a Deuxième Cru Classé from 1855, the estate is one of the few Bordeaux addresses whose rank has been confirmed over generations. The vineyards in Margaux provide Cabernet Franc with a depth that often has to be hard-won in many vintages.

In the glass, it shows a dense ruby red with purple reflections. The bouquet is multi-layered: blackcurrant, liquorice, and a smoky spice form the core, behind which floral notes typical of Margaux open up. On the palate, a dense texture, firmly structured tannins, and a long, dry finish with a mineral note.

Serving temperature 17–18 °C. Pairs well with braised rack of lamb with a herb crust, entrecôte, or mature Comté. If you would like to decant the wine, give it a good hour in the carafe — the aromas will then open up much more broadly.
