Château Puygueraud

Château Puygueraud is one of the most well-known names of the Côtes de Francs – a small, often overlooked appellation east of Saint-Émilion, where the Thivvin family has been producing high-level Bordeaux red wine for generations.

In the glass, it shows ripe blackberry and black cherry, complemented by lavender, black olive, and a subtle spice reminiscent of Mediterranean garrigue. The body is medium to full-bodied, the tannins firmly structured but without sharpness – the finish remains spicy and persistent.

Typical for the Côtes de Francs: more character per euro than many better-known Bordeaux appellations. The wine is suitable for aging, but also drinks pleasantly now with decanting.
