Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande 2ème Cru Classé AC Pauillac 0.75L

Pichon Comtesse — as the Château is simply called by connoisseurs — is one of the few Second Growths of the Médoc that is regularly rated on par with the First Growths. The winery is located in the heart of Pauillac, directly opposite Château Latour, and benefits from the deep gravel soils that store heat and guarantee drainage.

In the glass, it shows a Pauillac with unusual finesse: blackberry and black currant form the framework, behind it cedar wood, graphite, and a hint of dried herbs. The palate is dense but never bulky — the tannins are firm yet silky, the acidity keeps everything in motion. The finish is long and spicy.

Pairs with rack of lamb with rosemary, entrecôte, or a robust Munster cheese. Drinking temperature: 17–18 °C. Anyone opening the bottle should give it two hours in the decanter — then the wine unfolds its full complexity.
