Château Montrose Classé Saint-Este

The aroma reveals a sweet bouquet of crème de cassis, vanilla, and spring flowers. Fragrant and opulent with silky tannins, a robust mouthfeel, a long finish, and no harsh edges whatsoever. This vintage should not be left to be drunk for more than 15 years. The red wines at Montrose are vinified from the classic grape varieties Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. After a 3-4 week maceration, which guarantees optimal extraction of color and tannins, the wines are aged for five to ten months, half in new oak barrels and half in one-year-old oak barrels. Under the direction of oenologist Karine Lemaître, the Château has made a significant leap in elegance and approachability.

Château Montrose – Weingut-Logo, Saint-Estèphe, Bordeaux

Château Montrose

Château Montrose is one of the great classics of Bordeaux – a Second Growth from Saint-Estèphe that has stood for depth, structure and exceptional aging potential for almost two centuries.

Montrose wines are not flashy showpieces. They need time – and reward patience with a complexity that constantly surprises you: dark fruit, spicy depth, tannins that soften to silk with age. Bordeaux at its most serious and beautiful.
