Château Laforge Grand Cru AC Saint-Émilion 0.75L

A Saint-Émilion Grand Cru that shows what Cabernet Franc can achieve on the limestone-rich plateau of Saint-Émilion: structured, aromatically precise, dry without being austere.

Château Laforge is located in the heart of the Saint-Émilion Grand Cru appellation – one of the most renowned red wine AOCs in the Bordeaux region. Cabernet Franc is the lead grape variety here because it develops more finesse on the calcareous soil than Merlot alone. The appellation is subject to a strict classification system that is regularly reviewed – Grand Cru stands for controlled origin and minimum standards in the cellar and vineyard.

In the glass, the wine shows dark cherry, blackberry, and violets, plus a characteristic bell pepper and graphite note that distinguishes Cabernet Franc in cool climates. The palate is medium-bodied, with lively acidity and fine, grippy tannins. The finish is long and spicy.

Best served at 16–18 °C with leg of lamb with a herb crust, entrecôte, or an aged Comté. It also pairs well with braised vegetables with lentils.
