Château La Croix Du Casse Pomerol

Aroma: A fragrant bouquet of cherries, plums, and wild berries with delicate hints of spice, chocolate, and cedar. Taste: Juicy and full-bodied on the palate with elegant berry flavors, supple tannins, and a subtle touch of dark chocolate; harmoniously rounded and balanced with a beautiful, aromatic finish. The vines are on average 30 years old and grow on sandy and gravelly soils containing some residual iron. The must—Merlot and Cabernet Franc separately—was vinified in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. The wine was then aged for 12 to 16 months. 40% of the French oak barrels were new. Before bottling, the wine was transferred to stainless steel tanks for another 4 months to counteract the oak influence. Wine Spectator: 90 points for the 2016 vintage

Château La Croix Du Casse

Château La Croix Du Casse lies in the heart of Pomerol – one of the most fascinating appellations of Bordeaux. Here, on the characteristic clay and gravel soils, wines are produced with a depth and velvety texture that makes Pomerol so distinctive.

The Château focuses on meticulous work in the vineyard and cellar – with the clear aim of bringing the unfiltered character of the terroir to the glass. The result: dense, elegant red wines that combine Merlot fruit with a fine structure and are enjoyable both young and age beautifully.
