Château Haut-Bages-Libéral 6er HK

Haut-Bages-Libéral is one of the most reliable wineries in Pauillac — an appellation known for powerful, tannic Cabernet Sauvignon wines with aging potential. A Fifth Growth (Cinquième Grand Cru Classé 1855), it has been consistently developed in terms of quality and precision under the management of the Villars-Foubet family since the 1980s.

In the glass, a typical Pauillac character is evident: wild berries and cassis form the fruit foundation, complemented by spicy notes of white pepper and eucalyptus, as well as a hint of licorice in the background. On the palate, the wine impresses with good body and clear structure—the tannins are integrated and powdery, without any harshness. The finish remains spicy and lingering.

Serving temperature: 17–18 °C. Pairs well with herb-crusted lamb loin , braised beef shoulder, or aged cheddar. Those who are patient for a few years will be rewarded with greater complexity.

Château Haut Bages Liberal

Château Haut-Bages Libéral lies in the heart of Pauillac – one of the great estates of the Médoc. What makes this estate so special? A limestone content in the soil, which imparts a cool minerality to the wine that is so rarely found in Pauillac.

Power and elegance combined – this is not a contradiction, but rather the promise of Haut-Bages Libéral. The wines combine the structure of classic Pauillac with a fine, almost delicate texture. Deep, complex, yet approachable.
