Château du Tertre AC Margaux 0.75L
Château du Tertre is one of the five Grands Crus Classés of Margaux – a classification that has existed since 1855 and clearly defines the ambition of this estate. Its location on the eponymous hill (tertre = hill) in the heart of the appellation ensures exceptional drainage and warmth, which benefits the vines even in more challenging vintages.
In the glass, this dry Margaux displays the typical elegance of the appellation: red fruits like blackberry and cherry, underpinned by violets and a hint of graphite. The Cabernet Franc contributes a delicate herbal spiciness and a lively acidity that, despite its depth, makes the wine feel light on its feet. The tannins are present but silkily integrated – not a wine that boasts power, but one that impresses with its structure.
Best served at 16–18 °C . A good accompaniment to herb-crusted rack of lamb, duck breast, or aged Comté cheese. If you have the time: a few years of cellaring will pay off.

Château du Tertre – an old estate in Margaux. 52 hectares of vineyards surround the château, in the vicinity of renowned estates such as Cantenac-Brown and Giscours. Owned by Eric Albada Jelgersma since 1997, he has meticulously modernized the vineyards and cellars, restoring the estate's original character. The vines grow on the highest point in Margaux – protected from late frosts, benefiting from gravelly soils and nearby streams that ensure perfect water management. Here, Margaux wines with character and elegance are created.
