Château Châtagnerèaz Mont-sur-Rolle La Côte AC 1er Cru

A Chasselas from Vaud that shows what the variety is capable of: clearly structured, with fine minerality and a depth that many do not expect from it.

Château de Châtagneréaz is located in Mont-sur-Rolle, directly on Lake Geneva, not far from Lausanne. Its name derives from a chestnut grove that once stood on this hillside. The estate belongs to the La Côte AC appellation, one of the best white wine regions in French-speaking Switzerland. Its Premier Cru classification signifies clearly defined vineyard boundaries and strict quality requirements under Swiss wine law.

The wine matures in large wooden barrels and then rests on its fine lees—a process that gives the Chasselas richness and body without compromising its lightness. In the glass, it displays aromas of white peach, linden blossom, and a hint of roasted hazelnut. The acidity is fine and well-integrated, the finish fresh and mineral with a saline aftertaste typical of good lakeside vineyards in the Vaud region.

Serving temperature: 10–12 °C . Goes well with pike-perch or whitefish from Lake Geneva, with fondue Fribourgeois or with a plate of Vacherin Mont-d'Or — classic Vaudois cuisine, classic Vaudois wine.

Château de Châtagneréaz

Château de Châtagneréaz – a name that breathes history. Since the year 996, vines have been growing on the clayey hills of La Côte on Lake Geneva, which today count among the most impressive in French-speaking Switzerland. The chestnut forests that once gave the Domaine its name have long since become part of the legend of this place.

On 14 hectares of prime location, wines are created that honestly reflect their terroir: structured white wines with sweet fruitiness and fine acidity, elegant red wines with a long finish. Hand-picking and high planting density – almost 10,000 vines per hectare – are not marketing promises, but lived conviction.
