Château Chasse Spleen Moulis

Chasse-Spleen is one of the most famous crus from Moulis-en-Médoc — an appellation west of Margaux known for structured, age-worthy red wines with a distinctive character. The name originates from a legend involving Lord Byron: a glass of this wine is said to have chased away his melancholy.

The 2014 vintage in the Médoc benefited from a warm, dry autumn following a changeable summer—the wines show good concentration with lively acidity. In the glass, a deep ruby ​​red with violet reflections.

On the nose, the wine opens with aromas of blackcurrant, cedar, and tobacco , with a hint of violet. On the palate, ripe, dense tannins blend with a vanilla note from the barrel aging—typical of the Château's style. The finish is long, with subtle spice notes and good structure.
