Chateau Carbonneau Sequoia Saint Foy Bordeaux

Chateau Carbonneau Sequoia Saint Foy Bordeaux
A Bordeaux from the lesser-known Saint-Foy in the eastern tip of the Gironde — softer in tannins than Médoc, ready to drink earlier, with the typical charm of a family-run Château.
Jacqueline and James de Ferrière took over Château Carbonneau with little experience but plenty of perseverance—and over the years expanded it to 20 hectares of vineyards and an annual production of 70,000 bottles. Today, the estate near Pessac-sur-Dordogne is also a hotel that attracts guests from all over the world. The wines reflect this development: solidly crafted, honest in style, and unpretentious.
The Sequoia showcases what Saint-Foy is known for: ripe aromas of blackberry and plum, a hint of cedarwood, and dried herbs in the background. The tannins are supple, the acidity moderate—an approachable red wine with a smooth finish.
Best served between 16 and 18 °C . Ready to drink now, without needing long aging. Pairs well with entrecôte with herb butter , leg of lamb, or a hearty beef stew—but also with Tomme de Savoie or aged Gouda.
