Château Beauséjour Duffau-Lagarrosse 6er HK
Beauséjour Duffau-Lagarrosse is one of the few Premiers Grands Crus Classés B wines of Saint-Émilion—a distinction the estate has held since the 1955 classification and which was reaffirmed in 2012. Its location directly on the Plateau de Saint-Émilion, on limestone-substituted clay, is key to this wine's style: cool, mineral, with a precision not always expected from this appellation.
In the glass, it displays aromas of blueberry and crushed blackberry, underpinned by a characteristic hint of crushed limestone—a feature of the vineyard that is present in all vintages. The texture is medium-bodied, the tannins firm yet fine-grained, the acidity clear and supportive. The finish is long, with a mineral and spicy aftertaste.
Drinking window: from 2026 at the earliest, with potential until 2035+. Serving temperature 16–17 °C. At the table, it pairs well with herb-crusted rack of lamb , braised beef shoulder, or mature Comté cheese. If opened young, it should be decanted for at least an hour.
