Champagne Moët & Chandon Grand Vintage Brut

In contrast to the basic Brut Imperial cuvée, Moët & Chandon's Grand Vintage bottlings radiate with remarkable strength. These are exceptionally elegant and distinctive vintage champagnes, produced only in the very best years. This particular champagne presents a classic blend of the three main grape varieties of Champagne: 41% Chardonnay, 38% Pinot Noir, and 21% Pinot Meunier. As an Extra Brut with a dosage of 5 grams and over 7 years of lees aging, this champagne offers expressive aromas. Even upon pouring, the typical notes of brioche and roasted hazelnuts waft from the glass. These are joined by juicy, ripe lemons, yellow apples, and delicate white blossoms. On the palate, a wealth of expressive fruit unfolds, dominated by tart mandarin and dried apricot. The champagne already displays considerable intensity at this stage, with a subtle mineral core. The long finish is accompanied by a chalky freshness.
