As is often the case with Ermelinda Freitas, the salmon-colored Casa Ermelinda La Tulipa Rosado de Setubal is a real bargain. A charming rosé at an almost unbelievably low price. The grapes for this summery rosé wine grow on the Setúbal Peninsula, south of Lisbon. Traditional Portuguese grape varieties such as Aragonês, Touriga Nacional, and Castellão are combined with 30% Syrah. The result is a modern, salmon-colored rosé with intensity and freshness, beautifully balanced, and with an elegant finish.
