Carned Kerner Alto Adige DOC 0.75L

Kerner is a grape variety with a clear home advantage in South Tyrol: in high altitudes above 600 meters, it develops an aromatic intensity that is hardly achievable in flat viticulture. The Carned from the Kellerei Kaltern comes from exactly these cool hillside locations of Alto Adige — the temperature fluctuations between day and night ensure slow, aromatically precise ripening.

In the glass, it appears in light straw yellow with greenish reflections. On the nose, ripe apricot, a hint of exotic fruit, and floral hints — typical for Kerner at this altitude. On the palate, dry, with lively acidity that keeps the wine fresh and drinkable. The finish is aromatic and clean, without heaviness.

Pairs well with South Tyrolean speck with grey cheese, grilled char from the Eisack, or a light pasta dish with herb sauce. Drinking temperature: 10–12 °C.
