Canace Nero di Troia Puglia

The name "Canace" comes from the first syllables of the towns of Canosa and Acerenza, near which the vineyards are located – Canosa in the hills north of Bari in the Castel del Monte DOC region at 480 meters above sea level, and Acerenza in Basilicata. The soils are calcareous with a rocky subsoil, on which the vines grow at a density of 3,500 per hectare. The 2013 harvest in Puglia was marked by one of the coldest spring and summer periods on record. Abundant yields led to a slight delay in ripening. However, the late summer warmth, lasting into October, ultimately resulted in excellent grape ripeness, allowing the harvest to begin in early November. The grapes underwent an extended maceration of 15 to 20 days before fermentation. After fermentation, the wine rested on its fine lees for approximately eight months, followed by 12 months of aging in large French oak barrels. Deep red in color with hints of violet, the complex bouquet offers warm spices, cocoa, coffee, licorice, and ripe berries. This full-bodied Canace possesses a wonderfully fresh acidity from the Aglianico grape, yet is soft and velvety on the palate, well-balanced with elegant tannins and a lingering spiciness.

An excellent product was delivered in record time. Very happy to return.

The wine is full-bodied, fruity and of excellent quality. The price-performance ratio is right despite the ambitious price. Not a wine for every day, but a great companion to a good meal or special...

Recognizably a Nero di Troia.

Nice wine for fans of Nero di Troia, very characteristic, dark, noticeable but subtle acidity and first impression: plum. Four stars because of the price, on offer because of the then given value f...

Awesome

I have never tried such a powerful, velvety, almost viscous wine. Incredibly delicious, very intensely berry-like with a long aftertaste.

Cantina Diomede

Cantina Diomede from Apulia bears a name deeply rooted in mythology: The Homeric hero Diomede is said to have once landed in southern Italy and brought with him the vines from which Uva di Troia was created – one of the most fascinating grape varieties of the region.

In the heart of these legendary fields, the Campi Diomede, what began centuries ago continues to grow: wines with character, matured in oak barrels, combining tradition with modern cellar technology. Robust, profound, and with a true Apulian soul – history is in every sip.
