Cabernet Sauvignon QW Burgenland 0.75L

A classic Cabernet Sauvignon from Burgenland that clearly shows the strengths of this Pannonian wine region: warmth, ripeness, and structured depth. The Kollwentz – Römerhof winery in Großhöflein is one of those addresses in Burgenland that has been proving for decades that Cabernet Sauvignon can play far more than a supporting role on Austrian soil.

A deep ruby red with violet reflections shines in the glass. On the nose, black currant, cassis, and a hint of vanilla open up, accompanied by a fine spice reminiscent of bay leaf and dark spices. On the palate, the wine presents itself as dry, with well-integrated tannins and a pleasant length on the finish.

Served at 16–18 °C, it pairs well with hearty meat dishes: roast beef with root vegetables, leg of lamb with rosemary, or a mature mountain cheese like Vorarlberger Alpkäse. It also works well for an evening with antipasti and aged Pecorino.
