Brancaia Ilatraia Toscana Rosso IGT 0.75L

The Ilatraia is Brancaia's excursion into the Maremma — one of the wildest and sunniest corners of Tuscany. While the winery became known for its Chianti Classico estates, this wine was created as an independent project on the Tyrrhenian coast, where the Mediterranean climate drives Cabernet Franc to unusual ripeness and density.

In the glass, the Ilatraia shows a deep ruby red. On the nose, black currant, cassis, and dark cherry, plus a hint of graphite and dried herbs — typical for Cabernet Franc in warm locations. On the palate, velvety, well-integrated tannins, a full body, and a long, fruit-driven finish with a slight spice in the aftertaste.

It pairs well with roast wild boar with rosemary jus, roasted rack of lamb, or a hearty Pecorino Stagionato. Serving temperature: 17–18 °C. If you want to open the wine up a bit, you can decant it an hour before pouring — this gives the aromas room to unfold.
