Ron Botucal Reserva Exclusiva, formerly known as Diplomatico, is among the finest rums from Venezuela and has received numerous awards for its exceptional quality. The Reserva Exclusiva is a select blend of distillates aged for up to 12 years in oak barrels, with heavier oak barrels comprising 80% of the blend. The result is a complex and intense premium rum. On the nose, this rum reveals sweet and fruity aromas of fruitcake, raisins, cocoa, cinnamon, and cloves. On the palate, it displays sumptuous notes of chocolate mousse and caramel, along with tropical fruits. The long finish reveals hints of dark chocolate and orange. It received a high rating of 97 points from the experts at "Rum Howler" and a silver medal at the "International Review of Spirits Award."
