Blanton's Gold Edition Single Barrel

Blanton's Gold Edition Single Barrel
Blanton's Gold Edition is the more robust sibling of the Original Single Barrel — more body, less sweetness, but more depth and spice. Bottled directly from a single barrel at the Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, Kentucky.
Buffalo Trace is one of the oldest continuously operating distilleries in the USA. Blanton's is considered the first commercially marketed single barrel bourbon ever — launched in 1984 by Master Distiller Elmer T. Lee. The Gold Edition was developed in response to markets that prefer a more expressive style.
The nose reveals rich amber hues with notes of grain, a hint of orange peel, and delicate black pepper. On the palate, it is full-bodied and creamy: vanilla, caramel, ripe fruit, and fresh blossoms, underpinned by the characteristic spiciness. The finish is long—cloves, star anise, and a touch of fresh mint provide a vibrant conclusion.
Neat at room temperature or with a single large ice cube, which gently opens up the spices. Also convincing as a base for an Old Fashioned with orange zest.
