Biondi-Santi Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 0.75L

Biondi-Santi is a name that needs no introduction—the Tenuta Greppo winery in Montalcino invented Brunello as a wine style. Since the 19th century, the family has worked with the Sangiovese Grosso clone they selected themselves, which is now known as Brunello. What Ferruccio Biondi-Santi began is carried on by his descendants today: rigorous selection, long aging periods, and no compromise on the house style.

The 2019 Brunello di Montalcino demonstrates what Sangiovese can achieve on the galestro and clay-rich soils around Montalcino: aromas of sour cherry, dried rose, and tobacco, underpinned by a spicy herbal note typical of the Greppo's high altitude. The palate is tightly structured, with firm yet silky tannins and vibrant acidity that carries the long, mineral finish.

This wine needs time—or at least air. Decant for at least two hours. Drinking window: 2026–2045. Serving temperature: 16–18 °C . At the table, it pairs well with braised wild boar, Bistecca alla Fiorentina, or mature Pecorino di Pienza.
