Benromach Contrasts Organic 46%vol.

A Speyside single malt that combines organic certification and classic distilling craftsmanship — produced by the smallest active producer in the region.

The Benromach distillery in Forres has operated with a consistently artisanal approach since its reopening in 1998 under Gordon & MacPhail: small pot stills, traditional production methods. The Contrasts series explores different raw material and cask concepts. The Organic edition uses only certified organic barley malt and is bottled at 46% ABV without chill filtration.

On the nose, toffee, ripe banana, and vanilla, with hints of cocoa and freshly ground coffee. On the palate, a creamy texture, followed by pepper and chili—spicy, but not overpowering—with dark chocolate and a citrus burst that breaks up the sweetness. The finish is long and smooth.

It unfolds its full flavor best neat at room temperature — a few drops of still water open the fruit layers. Enjoy it as a digestif after a hearty dinner or with a piece of dark chocolate.

Benromach Distillery Company Ltd

Benromach is one of Speyside's smallest distilleries – and that's precisely what makes it special. Since 1898, a whisky has been crafted here in Forres, in northern Scotland, forging its own path. After years of dormancy, Benromach was revived in 1998 by Gordon & MacPhail, one of Scotland's most renowned whisky families. Since then, two men have distilled the entire annual supply here – by hand, with care, and without haste. The result: a Speyside whisky with character. Peaty, spicy, slightly smoky – and surprisingly approachable. What distinguishes Benromach is the honesty of their work. No mass-produced product, no bland, homogenized flavor. Instead, a dram that shows you just how diverse Scotland can be in a glass.
