Barolo DOCG Piemont 0.75L
A Barolo that shows the classic power of Nebbiolo with elegant precision — from one of the most renowned addresses in Piedmont.
Bruno Giacosa has been one of the defining names in La Morra and Serralunga d'Alba for decades. The Falletto winery stands for artisanal rigor: the Nebbiolo vines, between 32 and 37 years old, grow on southwest slopes and provide concentrated, structure-rich grapes. The hand-harvest took place on October 19, 2021, followed by a 25-day fermentation and maceration.
In the glass, the 2021 shows aromas of dried rose, cherry jam, and licorice, underpinned by a typical hint of tar and violets. The tannins are firm and fine-grained at the same time — a sign of the quality of the site and the age of the vines. The acidity carries the wine long, the finish is spicy and persistent.
Best served at 16–18 °C, ideally after an hour of decanting. Classic companions: Brasato al Barolo, wild boar goulash, or aged Parmigiano Reggiano. A wine for an evening that has time.
