Barolo DOCG

Barolo is not just any red wine – it is the epitome of Piedmontese wine culture, and Michele Reverdito from Castiglione Falletto is one of the producers who fills this reputation with substance. 100% Nebbiolo, grown on the calcareous soils of the Langhe, where the vine develops its characteristic combination of power and finesse.

In the glass, it shows the typically transparent garnet red of Nebbiolo. On the nose, sour cherry, forest floor, and a hint of licorice – an aromatic language that is both serious and inviting. On the palate, the powerful tannin of the Nebbiolo comes to the fore, well-structured and without sharpness, accompanied by a lively acidity that gives the wine its long, spicy finish.

Barolo needs patience in the glass: decanting for at least an hour helps the aromas open up. Serving temperature: 17–18 °C. At the table, it belongs with Brasato al Barolo – i.e., beef braised in red wine – or with grilled lamb with rosemary. An aged Parmigiano Reggiano or black truffle are also classic Piedmontese companions.
