Barbera d'Alba Falletto DOC Piedmont 0.75L
Barbera from the Falletto cru in Serralunga d'Alba — this is not a simple everyday wine, but a red wine with the origin of one of the most significant Barolo wineries in Piedmont. Bruno Giacosa has been considered one of the defining addresses of the Langhe for decades, and the Falletto vineyard in Serralunga is the core of the operation.
In the glass, a deep ruby red shows. The nose brings sour cherry, ripe plum, and fine spice notes — typical for Barbera, but with the density and seriousness that Serralunga soils provide. On the palate, lively, fresh acidity, which is characteristic of Barbera and keeps the wine lean and drinkable, plus a medium body and a clean, fruit-driven finish.
Served at 16–18 °C, it pairs with pasta al ragù, grilled salsiccia, or a risotto with porcini mushrooms. It also cuts a fine figure with Taleggio or a spicy Pecorino.
