Artemis

Artemis
The Artemis from Stag's Leap Wine Cellars is a Napa Cabernet that shows the classic handwriting of the house: structured but accessible, with the typical elegance of the Stag's Leap District AVA.
Stag's Leap Wine Cellars wrote wine history in 1976 when their Cabernet Sauvignon beat the French competition at the Paris Wine Judgment. The winery is located in the eastern part of the Napa Valley, where volcanic soils and cool evening winds from San Pablo Bay ensure wines with depth and fresh acidity. The Artemis is the entry into the Cabernet program of the house — no compromise, but an independent style.
In the glass, it shows dark blackberry, black currant, and a hint of cedar wood. Aging in oak barrels brings notes of mocha and dark chocolate without masking the fruit. The tannins are ripe and well-integrated, the acidity keeps the wine lively. Medium-long, spicy finish.
Drinking temperature: 17–18 °C. Pairs with grilled ribeye, leg of lamb with rosemary, or aged cheddar.
