Amarone Torre d' Orti Amarone della Valpolicella DOC

The Amarone Torre d'Orti from Cavalchina is a dense, powerful red wine from the Veneto that combines force with balance. In the glass, it shows a deep, almost opaque color.

The Azienda Agricola Cavalchina is located in the Veneto, the home of Amarone della Valpolicella DOC. The basis is the Corvina grape variety, which gives the wine cherry fruit and structure. Amarone is traditionally made from dried grapes, which gives it concentration and depth. The wine is vinified dry.

In the nose, black berries, pepper, and licorice appear, along with fine spice notes. On the palate, it appears juicy and deep with cherry and ripe plum, accompanied by chocolate and a hint of tobacco. The high alcohol is well integrated, and the finish is long.

Recommendation: Braised dishes like ox cheek or pot roast, game ragout, or aged hard cheese. Serve it at 16 to 18 °C and open the bottle a little earlier or decant it.
