Abstinence Cape Malt - alcohol-free

Abstinence Cape Malt - alcohol-free
An alcohol-free spirit from South Africa, stylistically based on classic malt whiskies — for all those who want to abstain from alcohol but don't want to compromise on taste.
Abstinence uses rooibos, the South African tea plant, in its Cape Malt, which brings a honeyed sweetness and slightly earthy depth. On the nose, it opens with vanilla, caramel, and toffee, supported by American oak and a hint of smoke. On the palate, it surprises with an unusual viscosity—full-bodied, with a warm finish and a touch of toastiness.
Neat over ice or as a base for non-alcoholic cocktails — a convincing alcohol-free Old Fashioned is easily achieved with this. Serving temperature: 18–20 °C neat, cooler with a large ice cube.
Abstinence comes from Cape Town – founded by Pierre, a sommelier, and Stefan, a gin maker, both fascinated by the aromas of South Africa's Cape Floral Kingdom. Their idea: non-alcoholic spirits with real depth, possessing just as much character in the glass as their alcoholic counterparts.
The base consists of indigenous botanicals from the smallest but most biodiverse floral kingdom on Earth, sustainably harvested and processed in small batches using hydrodistillation. The result is a range of non-alcoholic white and dark spirits, bittersweet Italian-style aperitifs, and ready-to-drink spritzers – complex enough for sophisticated cocktails, yet relaxed enough to enjoy neat over ice after work.
