Abstinence
Abstinence comes from Cape Town – founded by Pierre, a sommelier, and Stefan, a gin maker, both fascinated by the aromas of South Africa's Cape Floral Kingdom. Their idea: non-alcoholic spirits with real depth, possessing just as much character in the glass as their alcoholic counterparts.
The base consists of indigenous botanicals from the smallest but most biodiverse floral kingdom on Earth, sustainably harvested and processed in small batches using hydrodistillation. The result is a range of non-alcoholic white and dark spirits, bittersweet Italian-style aperitifs, and ready-to-drink spritzers – complex enough for sophisticated cocktails, yet relaxed enough to enjoy neat over ice after work.
Abstinence –
alcohol-free spirits from the heart of South Africa
Abstinence hails from Cape Town and represents something that has long been missing: alcohol-free spirits that don't feel like a compromise. The founders consciously chose not to imitate – instead of copying alcohol-free versions of classic spirits, they developed their own recipes based on South African botanicals such as rooibos, buchu, and fynbos herbs.
Production follows the principle of true distillation: botanicals are extracted, cold-infused, and carefully blended – without alcohol as a carrier, but with the same meticulous care as classic gins or aperitifs. The result is a spirit that displays depth, structure, and aroma in the glass, qualities otherwise only found in alcoholic products.
Whether as the base for a non-alcoholic G&T, as an aperitif, or in a cocktail – Abstinence Spirits are for everyone who consciously abstains from alcohol without sacrificing enjoyment. The bottles fit perfectly in any well-stocked bar – and on any table where not everyone wants to drink the same thing.
