About Bodega Garzón
Bodega Garzón –
Uruguay's answer to great terroir wine
Bodega Garzón is located in southeastern Uruguay, in a hilly landscape of granite and slate soils near the coast. The climate is Atlantic-influenced – cool, windy, with large temperature differences between day and night. It is precisely these conditions that give the wines their tension: fresh acidity, clear fruit, and a mineral undertone that recalls the soils from which the vines grow.
The winery was founded by Alejandro Bulgheroni and his wife Bettina – with the goal of producing wines that honestly reflect their origin. International oenologist Alberto Antonini has accompanied the project from the beginning and brings a philosophy that relies on minimal intervention in the cellar and maximum work in the vineyard. Tannat, Albariño, and Pinot Noir are among the varieties that thrive particularly convincingly here.
What distinguishes Garzón from many up-and-coming wineries is the consistency: sustainability certification, its own gastronomy, and a hotel project on the winery – all part of an idea that does not view wine in isolation, but as an expression of a place and a way of life.
