Tuscan baking craftsmanship from Prato
Biscottificio Deseo was founded in 2001 by Francesco Pandolfini in Prato – a city in Tuscany known for its craftsmanship, not for mass production. Pandolfini wanted to preserve exactly that: a bakery that still shapes its biscotti by hand, with ingredients without genetic engineering, without palm oil, and without artificial preservatives.
The heart of the range is the Cantuccini Toscani IGP – a protected product bound to strict origin and recipe requirements. Deseo adheres to these while simultaneously going its own way: in addition to the classic almond pastry, variations with unusual flavor and ingredient combinations are created, showing that traditional craftsmanship and curiosity are not a contradiction.
Deseo's biscotti go just as well at the end of a menu as they do with a cheese board or for an aperitivo. Classically with Vin Santo, but also with a dry Spumante or an aged Pecorino – anyone who has tried them once will quickly find their own moment for them.
