Welschriesling Pro. Steirerland *AT-BIO-402* 0.75L

Welschriesling has a completely different language in Southern Styria than elsewhere — and the Gross winery from Ratsch an der Weinstraße speaks it convincingly. The Gross family is one of the best-known addresses in Styria and manages its vineyards with a biodynamic approach (AT-BIO-402), with the soils of the Styrian Classic forming the basis for this entry-level wine.

In the glass, the Welschriesling shows a clear, yellowish-green color. The nose opens with meadow herbs, a hint of cardamom and cumin — this spicy aroma is typical for the grape variety in this region. Added to this are fresh citrus notes and a light herbal spice. On the palate, it presents itself dry, with lively acidity and a clean, straightforward finish.

It is best to drink it at 8–10 °C — as a companion to zander with caper butter, asparagus dishes, or a fresh goat cheese. It also cuts a fine figure as an uncomplicated aperitif on a warm evening.
