Vistamare Toscana IGT 1.5L

The Vistamare from Ca'Marcanda — Angelo Gaja's winery on the Tuscan coast near Bolgheri — shows what the Maremma can achieve with white grape varieties: a white wine with depth that tangibly carries the salty air of the Tyrrhenian Sea.

Ca'Marcanda was founded in the late 1990s by Piedmont legend Gaja and has since established itself as one of the most significant addresses in the Bolgheri area. The Vistamare — the name means "sea view" — is the estate's white flagship and reflects the maritime location of the vineyards.

In the glass, it shows a light golden color with green reflections. The nose is lively and multi-layered: smoky notes meet tropical fruit, behind which lies a clear, upright acidity structure that gives the wine tension and freshness. On the palate, it feels precise and not lean — a balance between fullness and liveliness, with a long, mineral-saline finish.

A grateful choice with grilled sea bass, scallops with lemon butter, or a creamy risotto with seafood. Drinking temperature: 10–12 °C. The 1.5-liter magnum is particularly suitable for a festive table for two or four.
