Tokara Director's Reserve White

Tokara Director's Reserve White
The Tokara Director's Reserve White is a Sauvignon Blanc from Stellenbosch that shows what South African white wine can achieve at an international level — complex, fresh, and with a clear structure.
Tokara is located at the foot of the Simonsberg, where nutrient-rich soils and cooling sea breezes from the Atlantic ensure even, slow ripening. The winery was founded in 1994 by G.F. Ferreira and is now one of the most renowned operations in South Africa. For the cooler sites, Tokara draws on vineyards in Elgin and Walker Bay — regions where Sauvignon Blanc can develop its aromatic depth particularly well.
In the glass, the Director's Reserve White shows aromas of quince and passion fruit, underpinned by a hint of almond and ripe plum. On the palate, it feels fresh and lively, with clear fruit and a dry, precise finish without excess heaviness.
Served well-chilled at 10–12 °C, it pairs with goat cheese, grilled sea bass, or a fresh asparagus salad with lemon vinaigrette. It also cuts a fine figure as a companion to light seafood.
