Teruzzi Sant’Elena Riserva 0.75L

The Sant'Elena Riserva from Teruzzi is a white Riserva from Tuscany — a type of wine that is rarer in this region than its red counterparts and is exactly why it makes people sit up and take notice. Teruzzi, founded by Enrico Teruzzi and Catharine Puthod in San Gimignano, is one of the wineries that led Tuscan white wine out of the shadow of red wines in the 1980s.

In the glass, it shows a dry wine with a clear structure: fresh citrus notes, a hint of white peach, and a fine mineral line that is typical for the hilly locations around San Gimignano. The finish is pleasantly long and slightly salty — a sign of the region's calcareous terroir.

On the table, it is best served alongside grilled sea bass, linguine alle vongole, or a young Pecorino toscano. Drinking temperature: 10–12 °C. Those who want to use it as an aperitif should serve it with bruschetta with olive oil or light antipasti.
