Tenuta Fizzano Chianti Classico Gran Selezione DOCG

The Tenuta Fizzano is the Gran Selezione from Rocca delle Macìe, the highest quality level of Chianti Classico. A dry red wine from Tuscany that combines structure and elegance.

Rocca delle Macìe is a Tuscan winery with a clear focus on Chianti Classico. The grapes for this wine come from the single vineyard Tenuta Fizzano. The base is Sangiovese, supplemented by a small proportion of other varieties; Colorino is listed in the data sheet. The strictest requirements of Chianti Classico apply to the Gran Selezione classification, including long maturation before sale.

In the glass, it shows a deep ruby red. On the nose, black fruits, cherry, and plum dominate, accompanied by tobacco and spice notes. On the palate, the wine appears complex and polished: silky tannins, lively acidity, a lingering finish.

Recommendation: Serve it at 16 to 18 °C with braised beef, game dishes, or aged pecorino. A decanter gives it some air beforehand.
