Tapada de Villar Alentejo Tinto Roble DO

Tapada de Villar Alentejo Tinto Roble DO
A southern Portuguese red wine with a clear profile: ripe fruit, gentle oak notes, uncomplicated drinkability.
Quinta das Arcas is a family-run winery in the Alentejo region of Portugal, known for its heat, slate and granite soils, and fully ripened red wines. The Tapada de Villar showcases typical Alentejo strengths: dark fruit, soft tannins, and a light, full body.
In the glass, aromas of red cherry and ripe plum, underpinned by vanilla and a hint of dark chocolate—both traces of aging in oak barrels. On the palate, dry, with medium acidity and very soft, well-integrated tannins. The finish is short and fruity.
Serving temperature 16–18 °C. Pairs well with grilled lamb, chorizo, lentil soup with smoked peppers, or a strong hard cheese. Not a wine for long aging – drink now.
Quinta das Arcas – that's family tradition you can taste. Since 1985, this Portuguese winery has been cultivating wines in the Vinho Verde and Alentejo regions that are true discoveries: fresh, vibrant, and full of character.
Founded by António Edwards Monteiro, Quinta das Arcas continues to stand for careful, sustainable practices in harmony with nature – from the crisp and refreshing Vinho Verde to the aromatic rosé from the sun-drenched Alentejo region. An organically produced sparkling wine made using the traditional method is also part of their portfolio.
In short: wines that tell the story of Portugal in all its diversity.
